Description	:	Harriett Havens was the daughter of Abel and Betsey Hill Havens. She was married to Abner Doty in September 1839. He preceded her to the great beyond on August 7, 1883. (In the 1880 census she is listed as living in Columbia Township, Tama County, Iowa with her son Abel, wife Laura and their daughter Ada. Abner is not listed with them but it list her as being married) To this union were born seven children; four sons and three daughters. Nathan, Edward, Martin, Abel, Eliza, Phoebe and Lucy. There survives to mourn her loss one son Abel and one daughter Eliza.... Read More	Harriett Havens was the daughter of Abel and Betsey Hill Havens. She was married to Abner Doty in September 1839. She has been in feeble health for about four years yet able to be about the house. Her last illness was of short duration which time she was confined to her bed for only three days. She died at the home of her son Abel Doty north of Brooklyn. The funeral services were held at the Grace M E Church by the pastor at 2 O'clock and the remains were laid to rest in the IOOF cemetery
