Description	:	Harriett J. Moen, age 97, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at the hospital in Watertown. She was the widow of Harold Moen. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2016, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Pastor Scott Dempster will officiate. Music will be provided by A. J. Sherrill as organist with the congregation singing. The family is requested to meet at 9:30 a.m. at the chapel on Saturday for a prayer service. Moen, age 97, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at the hospital in Watertown. She was the widow of Harold Moen. Active pallbearers will be Leon Hackbart, Jeff Wensing, Eldon Hanson and Richard Moen. Harriett was born on April 23, 1919, in Wilmar, MN, to John and Jennie (Bolton) Bergstad. After graduating from high school, she attended Minneapolis University in Minneapolis, MN. She received her teacher’s certificate from Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD, and started teaching school in the Clark, SD, and Marvin, SD, areas. On July 9, 1947, Harriett was united in marriage to Joe Becking in Florence, SD. They farmed in the Florence area and she continued teaching. After Joe’s passing in 1967, Harriett worked as a bookkeeper for True Electric in Watertown. She married Harold Moen in 1980 at Grace Lutheran Church in Watertown and they continued to live in Watertown. Harold passed away in 2008. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, both in Watertown, the church circles and the Sons of Norway. Harriett enjoyed reading and walking. Harriett is survived by her children, Carol Becking of Watertown, SD, and Ralph Becking of Florence, SD; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two husbands; one son, Albert; and her parents. - Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel
