Harriett became an active member of the DAR in 1915 and the author of at least four family genealogical reference works. Prior to 1920 she and Pardon moved to Covina, Los Angeles Co., California - where most of her family relocated to either before or since. Harriett died near Lander, Wyoming while traveling with one of her daughters when the trailer in which she was riding became detached from the vehicle.
