Ocheltree, 82, who passed away Friday in a hospital in Montezuma. Rev. J. J. Pritchard officiated at the funeral service. Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Shaull sang "Jesus Lover of My Soul" and "Rock of Ages" with Mrs. Vern Ocheltree at the organ. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. Harry C. Ocheltree, a son of Robert G. and Rebecca Ocheltree was born July 29, 1864, in Ogle county, Ill. When he was two months of age he came in a covered wagon with his parents to Poweshiek county, where they settled on a farm near Deep River. He lived in Poweshiek county all his life with the exception of two years when he attended school in Keswick. He engaged in farming, making his home with his brother George and members of his family. He lived in the vicinity of Victor and Carnforth for amost 50 years. The last few years he spent the summer months with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Slaymaker near Carnforth. During the winter he made his home with his half sister, Mrs. Margaret Riddell of Rock Island, Ill. While there, on Dec. 12, 1946, he suffered a stroke, from which he failed to recover. He never married. Preceding him in death were his parents, three sisters, and two brothers, also a half sister and a half brother. He is survived by a brother George M. of Victor, a half sister, Mrs. Margaret Riddell of Rock Island, and a half brother Will C. Ocheltree of Davenport.
