Description	:	HARRY SCOTT MURDOCK Harry Scott Murdock, son of James Cyrus and Alice Murdock, was born in Mercer County, Aledo, Ill., Dec. 10, 1891. He departed this life Sept. 17, 1956 at the age of 64 years, 8 months and 17 days. He had been a resident of Van Buren County since returning from the service in World War I. On Dec. 11, 1926, he was united in marriage to Willa B. Fellows. To this union were born four children. Read More	HARRY SCOTT MURDOCK Harry Scott Murdock, son of James Cyrus and Alice Murdock, was born in Mercer County, Aledo, Ill., Dec. 10, 1891. He departed this life Sept. 17, 1956 at the age of 64 years, 8 months and 17 days. He had been a resident of Van Buren County since returning from the service in World War I. On Dec. 11, 1926, he was united in marriage to Willa B. Fellows. To this union were born four children. Since their marriage they had lived in the same neighborhood where he was a devoted friend to everyone who knew him. His first thoughts were always for his family. He was an active member of the John Hyson Reneker Post 494 of Douds, Ia. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; one brother, William, one sister, Mrs. Maude Epperly; and one son who died in infancy. He is survived by his widow; two daughters, Dorothy Sellers of Douds and Donna Faas of North English, Ia.; one son, Pfc. James R. Murdock of Swansea, Mass; one brother Reynolds Murdock of Cantril; three sisters, Mrs. Alcy Roby of Pekin, Ill; Mrs. Effie Gray of Yucapia, Calif; Mrs. Violet Keenan of Brush, Colo; two Sons-in-law, Leroy Sellers and William Faas; one uncle, Riley Murdock of Albia, Ia; and one aunt, Mrs. Clark Ramsey of Hamliton, Ill; a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Before his death Harry requested there be no flowers, but that anyone wishing to leave a gift in his memory was to give it to the Red Cross of Disabled Veteran's through Clarence Pedrick, his funeral director. Funeral services were held at the Pedric(err) Funeral Home in Douds on Sept. 19, 1956 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Harold Harryman of Milton officiating.
