Description	:	Harrison Scott Vowell, 89, of Cainsville, Mo., died March 1, 2008, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March Harrison Vowell was born May 13, 1918, in Guthrie County to Frank and Edna (Scott) Vowell and was a graduate of Guthrie Center High School. Harrison started out working in the coal mines in Guthrie County. He also was dedicated in caring for his cattle and working his farms in Iowa and Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March Harrison Vowell was born May 13, 1918, in Guthrie County to Frank and Edna (Scott) Vowell and was a graduate of Guthrie Center High School. Harrison started out working in the coal mines in Guthrie County. He also was dedicated in caring for his cattle and working his farms in Iowa and Missouri. On May 21, 1939, he married Dorothy Burkhardt in Rockport, Mo. Shortly after being discharged from the United States Navy, of which he served during World War II, Harrison and Dorothy moved to Peru. They farmed in the Peru area until Dorothy's death in 1989. On July 7, 1991, he married Mary Irene Cain-Hagan, and shortly after, moved to Cainsville, Mo. He had been a member of the Peru United Methodist Church and trustee for the Peru Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy; stepson Bob Hagan; granddaughter Debbie Munson; and step-grandchildren, Devic Magee and Lydia Magee. He is survived by his wife, Mary, of Cainsville, Mo.; one son, Larry Vowell of Winterset; two daughters, Marilyn Spencer and Mildred Agan, both of Peru; a brother, George Vowell of Rogers, Ark., and seven grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren.
