Description	:	Harrison is believed to have been born in Knox County after parents James and Mary Wood had moved there from what is now the West Virginia eastern border with Virginia. Harrison married his first wife, Sally Allen, in Knox County. She bore two children: James and Mary Jane. She must have died shortly after Mary Jane's birth in 1845 as she does not appear on the next census and Harrison remarries in 1847. Harrison married his first wife, Sally Allen, in Knox County. She bore two children: James and Mary Jane. She must have died shortly after Mary Jane's birth in 1845 as she does not appear on the next census and Harrison remarries in 1847. The burial location for Sally is probably in Knox County, but the location is unknown. She died very young at about 28 years old. After Sally's death, Harrison married Rebecca Henderson who lived in Campbell County. Rebecca bore 11 sons and daughters: Calvin, Daniel, William Howard, David Andrew, Lucinda Elizabeth, John M, Sarah Emma, Mahulda Kathryn, Eliza Jane, and Arlena (Lena). Only Sarah Emma and Arlena are believed to be buried with their parents at the Disney Cemetery. Neither has a marked tombstone, but rather have an unmarked slate stone at the head and the foot of their graves. According to the census records in the late 1800s, Harrison was a well-to-do farmer in the Coal Creek area around the border of Campbell and Anderson Counties. He was assigned to the Jacksboro post office, so one could assume he lived just inside Campbell County north of the coal mining city of Coal Creek (also called Lake City and recently called Rocky Top). Calvin, Daniel, and William Howard would inherit acreage in the Demory area of Campbell County from father Harrison, where they would farm in the late 1800s into the early 1900s. Harrison bought about 150 acres in the Demory area about 10 years before his death. He is believed to have purchased more land, but those records have not been found yet. After wife Rebecca died, Harrison wed Asbury Tibb's widow, Julia Ann Parrott Tibbs. Harrison died about a year after marrying Julia Ann. Julia Ann's exact date of death and her burial location are currently unknown. Harrison Wood is believed to be a Republican who was strongly in favor of keeping the Union together. Few East Tennesseeans sympathized with the slave-owners of the Big South, as East Tennesseeans were subsistance farmers, rather than plantation owners. Harrison was shown as a Campbell County delegate to the Republican Caucus in 1872. Their charter supported the Union (which, of course, had been held together by the Union win of the Civil War).
