Harry Allen was born June 24, 1924,in Ida Grove, to Henry & Elsie Ellesabeth (Spiecker) Kroll. Married Ruth Marion Kelsheimer on October 25, 1946, in Elk Point. She died May 12, 1990. They farmed all their lives together, living on the same farm since 1954 in Westfield. Loved the land, livestock. Proud of his work. He also worked driving truck, helping others. Harry Allen was born June 24, 1924,in Ida Grove, to Henry & Elsie Ellesabeth (Spiecker) Kroll. Married Ruth Marion Kelsheimer on October 25, 1946, in Elk Point. She died May 12, 1990. Survivors include three son, Harry Allen Jr., Dennis Paul(Rhonda), Michael Daune (Debora Ann); Three daughter; Linda(Gary) Clark, Colleen (Steven) Schwarz, Marilyn (Harry) Davis; two sisters; Mildred (Reineke) Schutt, Mrs. Lee (Helen) Scott; two stepchildren, Karen (Ostermyer) Schult, Larry (Jean) Ostermyer; 18 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; stepfather Robert Armstrong; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his beloved Wife Ruth; daughter Arlene in 1955; infant daughter in April 20, 1947; granddaughter Lynne Ann Shear in 1968; father, Henry on May 3, 1932, mother, Elsie (Spiecker) Kroll-Armstrong on June 5, 1945; six brothers, Henry Leonard, John Henry, Fred Chris, Edward Louis, Ralph Wayne, Harold T., Glenn William in Infancy; sister Minnie (Albert) Alberts. Services were at Wesley Untied Methodist Church in Akron, Saturday, August 11, at 10:30 a.m. Arrangements was under Schroeder Funeral Home. Kroll, Sr., 66, Westfield, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 1990, at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Wesley United Methodist church in Akron. Rev. Tim Mason and Rev. Dave Alspach officiated. Organist was Pam Von Hagel. Burial was in Riverside cemetery in Akron, under direction of Schroeder funeral home of Akron. , Honorary pallbearers were Freeman Howard, Kenny Hoffman, Lloyd Hoffman, Charles Hughes, Dwayne Waddell, and "Ray Hoffman, Jr. Active pallbearers were Steve' Hoffman, John Howard, Jeff Shear, Ronnie Hoffman, Steve Reinke, and John Wiltgen. Mr. Kroll was born June 4, 1924, at Holstein, Iowa. He married Ruth M. Kelshimer, Oct. 25, 1946 in Elk Point. She died May 12, 1990. He farmed most of his life, living on the same farm for 35 years, moving to the Westfield area in 1954. Survivors include three sons, Harry, Jr. of Westfield, Dennis of South Sioux City, and Mike of Akron; three daughters, Linda Clark and Colleen Schwarz, both of Sioux City, and Marilyn Davis of Martinsville, Ill.; two sisters, Mildred Schultz of Paul- Una and Helen Scott of Correctionville. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Arlene; a granddaughter; six brothers, Henry, John, Fritz, Ed, Ralph, and Harold; and a sister, Minnie.
