Son of Levi Kline and Mary Hart OBITUARY THE CHARITON HERALD-PATRIOT Chariton, Iowa Thursday, November 27, 1941 HARRY A. KLINE Harry Almyr Kline died at the home of his son-in-law, E. R. LeMay, two miles southwest of Knoxville, Thursday, November 13, aged 71 years, 3 months and 2 days. He was the eldest son of Levi and Mary Hart Kline, born near Pleasantville, Iowa on August 11, 1870. He was united in marriage to Emma Jane Smith on January 4, 1892. Eight children were born to this union, Martin L. Kline, Albia; Mrs. E. R. (Eula) LeMay, Knoxville; Forrest M. Kline, Knoxville; Mrs. Arthur (Neva) Waters, Newton; Charles Dallas Kline, Attica; Loren and Dema, deceased. Mrs. Kline and an infant died January 1, 1911, leaving to the father the care and protection of the home and children. He kept the children all together until they married. He then was called to home of his aged mother near Tracy, where he was a companion to her and helped care for her the last six years of her life. For almost two years after the death of his mother he farmed near Tracy and made his home with his son. The last ten years of his life was spent at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. R. LeMay, in and near Knoxville. For nearly six years he was in poor health. The last three and one half years he was an invalid and blind. The deceased was a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge in Tracy, of which he was very fond and where he spent many happy hours. Mr. Kline is survived by the five children, fourteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, a sister, Mrs. Paul Forment, Des Moines; two half-brothers, S. M. Sherman and H. A. Sherman, Tracy; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held from the Roberts & Evans funeral home in Knoxville, Saturday, November 15, at 1 p.m., conducted by Rev. M. M. Pigg, pastor of the Christian church. Burial was made in the Bethel cemetery in Lucas county, by the side of his wife. Obituary courtesy of Charles M. Wright
