Honorary pallbearers were William Killiam and George Drake. Acting pallbearers were William Bennett, Charles Cook, Chris Coleman, LeRoy Fritz, Marvin Molln and Rex Weaver. Burial was in the Greenfield Cemetery. Full obituary: Harry Bingaman Harry Bingaman was born on a farm near Maryville, Missouri, on May 10, 1879. His parents were Solomon Albert and Mary Welcome Bingaman. Being the youngest living child, he grew to manhood on the farm and attended the Gill school. One brother, Alvin, and three sisters Nena, Lydia and Fanny preceded him in death, which came at his home near Greenfield on Saturday, March 21, 1959. Harry was 79 years, 10 months and 11 days. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Jennie Oakerson of Maryville, Mo. Harry accepted Christ, and affiliated with the Methodist church of Skidmore, Mo., in early youth, later placing his membership with Webster Methodist Church in Madison County. He was united in marriage to Nancy Arminnie Sawyer in Greenfield on Oct. 1, 1902. To this union were born two sons: Harlan Wayne of Des Moines and Albert Orr near Greenfield; and two daughters, Nena Margaret and Beulah Welcome, who were taken in early childhood (1911) when the family resided in Cordell, Oklahoma having moved from Burlington, Kansas just the year before. The mother was taken from this home where they resided on their farm near Greenfield on December 5, 1929. On March 30, 1932, he was united in marriage at Marceline, Mo. to Lucille Sawyer and to this union were born two daughters, Marilyn Ann Newton of Des Moines, Iowa, and Linda Kathleen at home. Harry served his community faithfully until his eyesight failed, being a charter member of the Adair County Farm Bureau; served 18 years as a school director in the rural schools; and other civic duties. He was a man devoted to his family, taking special pride in his grandson, Harold, who is stationed in England as a captain in the air force. His stepping from the circle is deeply felt by his wife Lucille, his sister Jennie; the daughters Marilyn and Linda; the sons, Harlan and wife Dollie; Albert and wife Leathe; two grandsons, Harold and Tommy; three granddaughters, Mrs. Nancy Mettetal, Hallie Elizabeth Newton, and Christine Jo Newton; four great-granddaughters, Julie Ann and Lori Rene Bingaman of England; Susan Diane and JoAnn Mettetal of Des Moines; other relatives and many friends. He was laid to rest in the family lot in Greenfield Cemetery March 24, 1959.
