Minert, son of John and Margaret Minert, was born in Page county, Iowa, Dec. 16, 1868, and died at is home in Omaha, April 8, 1930, at the age of 61 years, 3 months and 22 days. On December 21, 1898 he was united in marriage to Ella M. Preston. To this union were born three children, two daughters, Gladys, who preceded her father in death several years ago, Mrs. Frank Dredia of Omaha, and a son, Gerald, also of Omaha. ... Minert, son of John and Margaret Minert, was born in Page county, Iowa, Dec. 16, 1868, and died at is home in Omaha, April 8, 1930, at the age of 61 years, 3 months and 22 days. On December 21, 1898 he was united in marriage to Ella M. Preston. To this union were born three children, two daughters, Gladys, who preceded her father in death several years ago, Mrs. Frank Dredia of Omaha, and a son, Gerald, also of Omaha. His early life was spent on a farm, and later he learned the trade of a harness maker, which he followed for a number of years. His health became impaired by being so closely confined in doors and seeking other employment he became a motorman on the tramway in Omaha. Harry, who was so well liked and respected by all that knew him, was ever ready to lend a helping hand. Since last September he has been confined to his bed with a cancer of the mouth and other complications, but all his sufferings he bore without complaint. His desire was to go home to God. On his death bed he gave testimony of his Christian faith and left a benediction to those who are left that will always be a wonderful memory to them. He leaves to mourn his death a devoted wife, a daughter and family, and one son Gerald, a sister Mrs. J. M. Findley of Springfield, Mo., besides other close relatives. Funeral services were held from the Methodist church at Nodaway, his old home, on Friday afternoon in charge of Rev. C.S. Dayhoff, the pastor, with interment in the Nodaway cemetery, beside his parents and his daughter Gladys. A group of motormen of the Omaha and Council Bluffs Street Railroad were chosen by Mr. Minert himself to be pall bearers. The Adams COunty Free Press Apri 17, 1930"
