Harry was born in Giles County on July 3, 1929, to the late Robert Roy and Elva Robertson Saville. In addition he was preceded by many loving family members. He is survived by his loving wife, Claudine Price Saville; three daughters and their spouses, LaUna and Warren Clark, of Pageland, S.C., Norine and Jeff Snider, of Christiansburg, Va., and Ernestine and Kenneth Brock, of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; one son and daughter-in-law, William and Joi Saville, of Blacksburg, Va.; three grandchildren, Kimberly and husband, Brian Miles, of Pageland, S.C., Sidnie P. and Robert H. Saville, of Blacksburg; and three great-grandchildren, Aubreigh Johnson, Maggie and Morgan Miles, all of Pageland, S.C. He is also survived by two brothers, Don and wife, Louise, and Roger Saville, of Blacksburg; and sister-in-law, Della P. Snider; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Patsy Shepherd and Clarence and Loretta Albert; brother-in-law, Jerry A. Price and wife, Donna; and many loving family members including several cousins, nephews and nieces. Harry served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1949-1952. He was awarded numerous medals for his service during this time. Harry has been a member of the American Legion Post 182 for the past 10 years. After his military service, Harry worked 25 years at the Blacksburg Motor Company. He worked as an electrician for nineteen years prior to retiring from Virginia Tech's Electrical Service. Harry has been a longtime member of the New Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Sunnyside, where he loved to sing in the choir, and served terms as deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, teacher and Chair of the Church Council. Graveside Services for family, friends, and neighbors will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at the New Mt. Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Sunnyside. Pastor Richard Bansemer of New Mt. Zion Lutheran Church will officiate. The family would like to thank the staff of the Veterans Hospital, Salem, Hospice staff, Dr. John F. DiSterfano and the oncology department, neighbors, his Pastor and church family, and special niece, Janice Jackson, for their continual assistance and loyal support. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, c/o Donna Jean Miller, 520 Longshop Road, Blacksburg, VA 24060 or to Toms Creek-Sunnyside Veterans Memorial, c/o Vicky Miller, 4334 McCoy Road, Blacksburg, VA 24060.
