He was born in Barton on the 6th day of January, 1886. Later his parents moved to Glover and Harry lived there about ten years. He was educated at the common schools and at Barton Academy. Here he graduated in the class of 1903. He was a brilliant young man, a good scholar, and a favorite with old and young alike. Immediately after his graduation he was employed in Barton National Bank. Here he served two years most efficiently, and was then called to a good position in a bank at Bennington. After working there a short time he was taken sick and came home and had typhoid fever. After getting somewhat better he returned to Bennington but was unable to continue the work and came home again. Since that time he has made a grand struggle for life but in vain. He was a pleasant, good-natured clean young man, and gave a promise of filling a high position in life. He leaves to mourn his loss his mother, Mrs. C. N. Hibbard, his brother, W. S. Hibbard, his sister, Mrs. Bertha Baldwin of Barre, and many more distant friends and relatives. The funeral was held at the house Friday at one o'clock. Friends from Montpelier, Barre, Barton Landing, North Troy and Springfield, Mass., and many from this place contributed beautiful flowers in abundance. Much sympathy is felt by the community for the stricken friends who have laid away, two beloved ones within ten days. Rev. W. A. Warner officiated at the funeral and the interment was at Glover.
