Description	:	Harry Clayton Klinetob, age 94, of Clarksville, Iowa, was born the son of Edward and Nettie (Crabtree) Klinetob on April 16, 1922, at their home in rural Butler County near Clarksville. Harry was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Clarksville. Harry attended country school, Jackson #11 through eighth grade and then graduated from Clarksville High School in 1940. Read More	Harry Clayton Klinetob, age 94, of Clarksville, Iowa, was born the son of Edward and Nettie (Crabtree) Klinetob on April 16, 1922, at their home in rural Butler County near Clarksville. Harry was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Clarksville. Harry attended country school, Jackson #11 through eighth grade and then graduated from Clarksville High School in 1940. Harry enlisted in the United States Navy and served from December 1942 until February 1946. He served in World War II as a diesel mechanic and a gunner in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters after Pearl Harbor. On January 15, 1949, Harry was united in marriage with Marjorie Roose at St. John Lutheran Church in Clarksville. After their marriage, Harry and Marjorie lived in Clarksville. Harry worked at Oliver Tractor Company in Charles City, Iowa for13 years and Shield Bantam in Waverly for 15 years. He later worked as a mechanic at different garages in Clarksville. Harry also drove semi-truck for Norton Tree and Dozer. For many years, Harry and Marjorie managed the Clarksville roller rink. Harry was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Clarksville where he had served as an usher. Harry was a member of the Clarksville Volunteer Fire Department for 35 1/2 years, and served as Fire Chief for many of those years. Harry was also a member of the Clarksville Lions and the Clarksville AMVETS. He enjoyed fox hunting, motorcycles, fishing and working on cars. 4th of July homemade ice cream was a tradition in the Klinetob family. Harry died Sunday, March 12, 2017, at Clarksville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clarksville of natural causes. He is preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Deborah “Debbie Sue” (Klinetob) Eggleston; his parents and one sister Lois Eilene Klinetob. Harry is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marjorie; one son-in-law, Rick Eggleston of Clarksville; and three grandchildren, Kristin Eggleston, Philip (Brenda) Eggleston and Erika Eggleston; one great granddaughter, Evelyn Rose. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at St. John Lutheran Church, Clarksville, with burial in the Lynn Wood Cemetery, also in Clarksville. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, at the Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home in Clarksville, (319)278-4245, and one hour before services at the church.
