Golden, who came to western Nebraska in 1906 and who is well known for his services as auctioneer at many farm sales, died at Alliance hospital on Friday, December 18. He was taken to the hospital about November 1, suffering from a cancerous condition in several parts of his body, primary cause of death being an attach by cancer on both his lungs. No hope was held for his recovery after going to hospital. Harry Clio Golden, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Ezra Golden of Lisco, NE. was born at Westborough, MO. on September 26, 1881, and was 42 years, 2 months and 21 days of age. He was united in marriage to Mis Laura Huwaldt, at Pierce, NE. in 1902. In 1906 they moved to Chadron, NE. and in 1911 went to Lisco where Mr. Golden took a homestead. The family also lived in Broadwater about eight years and moved to a farm near Bridgeport in 1922, where they have since made their home. Four sons and three daughters were born to the couple. The sons are Everett, Raymond, Lee and Perel, and the daughters are Goldie, Dollie and Irene. Mr. Golden's age parents still live in Lisco, the mother being now critically ill. He also leaves four brothers, Frank, Ralph, James and Willard, and four sisters, Mrs. Myrtle James, Mrs. Leona Huwaldt, Mrs. Wilam Dolson and Miss Ruby Golden, all of Lisco. Harry Golden was an open hearted straightforward man, who made friends by his genial and hearty disposition. He achieved success in his calling as an auctioneer, and prominent pure bred stock breeder in his county. He was what is called a booster for everything connected with the betterment of livestock and agriculture, a strong helper in county fair matters. He will be missed by a host of warm friends. Services were at Lisco, Tuesday, by Rev. F. M. Studevant, pastor of the Baptist church of this city. Interment was made in cemetery 10 miles north of Lisco.
