Description	:	The funeral services of Harry Colman, son of Amos Colman living north of Seward, were held Monday from the Chain & Wood Chapel. Members of the Seward American Legion post had charge of the services at the chapel and the Masonic fraternity conducted special services at the grave. Colman, wife of Amos Colman, in the 48th year of her age. She leaves a husband and seven sons to mourn the loss of a wife and mother. Blue Valley Blade, Seward, NE, Wed, Mar 26, 1888 Amos Colman was born January 8, 1842, in Indiana and died March 4, 1932, at his home in Seward county, aged 90 years, 1 month and 25 days. He came to Nebraska in 1858 with his family and settled at Rock Bluff in Cass county. His first employment was as a freighter from Nebraska City to Geneva with Majors Russell and Wadel's freighting outfits. In March 1863 he enlisted in Co I of the First Nebraska and served under T. J. Majors of Peru. On July 28, 1867, he was married to Mary Katherine Poisall at Plattsmouth. In 1868 he entered a homestead in Seward county and moved onto it the following spring and was the last man living on their homestead in Seward county. He is survived by five sons, Ernest of Musselshell, Mont.; Homer of Gravette, Ark.; Bert of Seward; Jess of DeGraff, Minn.; and Fred of LaVerne, Okla.; also three granddaughters and four great grandchildren. His wife and two sons, Dudley and Harry, preceded him in death, as did two brothers, A. H. of Fairbury and Allen of Diller. Funeral services were held from the Methodist church Tuesday, March 8, conducted by the pastor, Rev. R. J. McKenzie. Seward Independent Democrat, Seward, NE,Thurs, March 10, 1932
