Polley Obituary Son of Charles and Elizabeth Noyer Polley Dec. 19, 1894--March 2, 1952 Harry Edward Polley, son of Charles and Elizabeth Noyer Polley, was born December 19, 1894 in Eldora. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith by Rev. Otto Broen, September 20, 1945, at Turtle Lake, Wisconsin, and he became a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Turtle Lake, later transferring to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Eldora. On February 20, 1917, he was united in marriage to Fern Cross, and to this union three children were born. On December 23, 1945, Mr. Polley was united in marriage with Lorena Granzow Hiles of Eldora. In March, 1946, he started the Polley Taxi Service, through which he served the public night and day until his untimely death on Sunday morning, March 2, 1952, at the age of 57 years, 2 months and 13 days. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Lorena, and three daughters, Mildred [Mrs. Win Johnson] Amery, Wis.; Ethel [Mrs. Harold Graber] Turtle Lake, Wis.; and Arlis [Mrs. James Farmer] Sacramento, Calif.; 4 grandchildren, Linda Graber, Dennis, Gary and Steven Johnson; one sister, Mrs. Ed Luiken of Steamboat Rock; two brothers, C. W. Polley, Iowa Falls and Jack Polley, Steamboat Rock. Funeral services were held at Andrle and Creps Funeral Home at 1:30 and in St. Paul's Lutheran Church at 2:00 o'clock Friday with Rev. J. Zimmermann officiating. Burial was in Eldora Cemetery. Casket bearers were Glen Sheldon, Herman Tietz, Dewey Estes, George Rubow, Dick Loverin and George O'Bryon. Mrs. Ella Steinfeldt, Mrs. Werner Tresmer and Mrs. Dale Peshia were in charge of flowers. Other articles: Heart Attack is Fatal to Harry Polley Harry E. Polley, 57, well known Eldora taxi operator, passed away at his home Sunday morning following a sudden heart attack. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Friday afternoon from Andrle and Creps Funeral Home and at 2:00 o'clock from St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Rev. J. Zimmerman will officiate and interment will be in Eldora Cemetery. Surviving in addition to the widow are three daughters, Mrs. Win Johnson, Mrs Harold Graber, and Mrs. James Farmer; Two brothers, C. W. Polley and Jack Polley; one sister, Mrs. Ed Luiken; and five grandchildren.
