Description	:	Harry Edwards was born in 1862. On Aug. 9, 1893, Harry married Bertha McDermond in Ontario, Canada. Mr. Edwards, a pioneer dray man, sold his team of horses and wagon to J.B. Reed in 1903. From 1903 to 1914, he worked for the Great Northern Railroad as an engineer. In 1914, he moved to Burt Township where he homesteaded on the SW 1/4 of Section 1. From "People, Places, and Events, Minot, Ward County. 100 Years of Magic", page 318 HARRY EDWARDS DIES OF TYPHOID Harry Edwards, a prominent farmer living nine miles southwest of the city, passed away at his home Monday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock after an illness of two weeks from typhoid fever. Mr. Edwards was I the city two weeks ago Monday and consulted a physician. He was told that he had a light form of typhoid fever and advised to hurry home and take care of himself. Although given the very best of care, he grew rapidly worse until death came. Mr. Edwards realized that he could not survive and made it known that he desired a Masonic funeral. Accordingly, the services were held from the Masonic temple at 3 o’clock this afternoon, Rev. Mr. Richmond, a member of the order, preaching a very appropriate sermon. Services were held at the Edwards home this morning, a very large number of the neighbors following the remains to this city. The floral tributes were very profuse and beautiful. The remains were interred at Rose Hill cemetery. The funeral at the Temple was attended by an immense crowd, in fact one of the very largest ever assembled there. P. W. Erickson, pastor of the Presbyterian church, gave a scripture reading, followed by the sermon by Rev. Mr. Richmond. Several numbers were sung by a quartette, consisting of Messrs. Gay and C. B. Davis, and Mrs. R. W. Pence and Miss Florence Miller. Mrs. Pence and Miss Miller sang a very pretty duet and Mrs. Pence a contralto solo. The pallbearers were all old time friends of Mr. Edwards. They were L. S. Foote, J. M. Wilson, E. B. Mc Cutcheon, J. W. Sameulson, C. F. Truax and C. A. Johnson. Mr. Edwards was 49 years of age. He was born in England, coming to this city in 1889. For several years he was an engineer on the Great Northern and later conducted a dray line in this city. Nearly ten years ago, he bought a farm southwest of the city and became one of Ward county’s most prosperous agriculturalists. He was a hard worker and an excellent manager and considered one of the very best farmers in Ward county. Mr. Edwards was raised to the degree of a Master Mason in 1905, being a member of Minot Lodge No. 33, A. F. and A. M. The funeral was conducted by this lodge. Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife, one son, Harry, and two daughters, Isabel, a student at the Normal school, and Lola, who is attending the high school, who have the sincere sympathy of all.
