He was the husband of the late Bessie Lydard Carbaugh, who died on January 28, 2003. Read More	Mr. Harry Franklin Nicholas Carbaugh, 89, of Jefferson, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2019 at his home surrounded by family. He was the husband of the late Bessie Lydard Carbaugh, who died on January 28, 2003. Born in Frederick on March 27, 1930, he was a son of the late Joseph and Clara Chew Carbaugh In his early years he had a great love of motorcycles, and was a participant as well as a supporter of the annual Barbara Fritchie Classic Motorcycle Race held at the fairgrounds in Frederick. He was an avid motorcycle racer and mechanic credited with many innovations still used in the sport today. His fellow racers, friends and fans wish him the best as he “rides his Harley into the Clouds”. As a young man he also played the drums and had his own band, “Buddy and the Tumbleweed Ramblers” who were a local favorite at the bars and juke joints around the tristate area. Harry was a Journeyman Machinist and supervisor at Eastalco. After his retirement he settled into farming his 10 acres of land along with hunting and fishing and in his later years was everyone’s “Mr. Fixit” as he had a knack for figuring out all things mechanical. He was a member of the Saint Luke's Lutheran Church in Feagaville. In his golden years he enjoyed visiting with family who gathered at his home on Jefferson Pike for cookouts and country food along with a perpetual yard sale. A die hard Green Bay Packers fan, when they were on, he was watching. He also enjoyed stamp collecting. Surviving are his children; Patricia Stutts and Stanley, of Apex, NC, Debra Clingan and Charles, of Harpers Ferry, WV, Brenda Cappella and Frank, of Frederick, and Harry "Chuck" Carbaugh, of Jefferson, six grandchildren; Christopher Clingan and Melanie, Dee Clingan and Joseph, Jennifer Cappella and Dan, Rebecca Stutts, Heather Stutts and Lee Ann Carbaugh, five great grandchildren, Molly, Natalie, Joey, Annika and Emeric, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Dade and Floatella Riggs. The family would like to acknowledge the great help provided by Hospice of Frederick as they assisted in a difficult time making things work out well for all. Services and interment will be private in the Jefferson Methodist Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Keeney and Basford Funera
