Read More	"Harry Noblitt Formerly of Lamoni, Killed Near Grand River Monday Never Regained Consciousness" Harry Noblitt, 35, of Grand River, formerly of Lamoni, died about 11 a.m. Monday, the result of being kicked in the head by a horse. The accident happened about 7:30 a.m. and he did not regain consciousness. Mr. Noblitt was employed on the farm of Forest Snook, about two miles north of Grand River, and he and his family lived within a half-mile or so of the Snook house. Harry was at the farm helping Mr. Snook load some hogs in a wagon. The hogs were attempting to climb over the front endgate, and Harry climbed up on the front wheel to push them back. This frightened the horse next to him, and he kicked with both feet, striking Harry in the head. There were few people around when the accident happened, and it was with difficulty that they got the injured man into the house. They were assisted by a neighbor lady who soon arrived. Dr. Bowman of Leon and Dr. Mitchell of Grand River were called, but Mr. Noblitt's head was badly mangled, and there was no hope of sustaining life from the first. He did not regain consciousness and died about 11 o'clock. Mr. Noblitt leaves his companion, who was Miss Mable Willis before her marriage, and six children, all at home. Harry F. Noblitt, son of Mrs. May Noblitt, of Nebraska, was born January 30, 1895, making him at the time of his death 35 years 5 months 7 days old. As a young man, he attended Graceland college, where he met the girl of his choice, and they were married April 17, 1917. Besides his companion and six children, Helen, Robert, Junior, Wayne, Donna Lee, and Mildren Arlene, he leaves to mourn a widowed mother, one sister, and three brothers, all of whom were present at the funeral. Harry was studious, a good and trusted worker, highly respected by those with whom he was associated. He was a good husband and father, and his presence will be greatly missed in the home. Funeral services were held from the Daniel Anderson home in Lamoni at 2 p. m. Wednesday. Interment in Rose Hill. Overnight his wife, Mabel, became a single parent to their 6 children all under the age of 10.
