Reiber, 71, a resident of Groton for about 39 years, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Schornack, early Saturday morning, Feb. 16, after a lingering illness, which kept him confined to his home for several years. Harry Graff Reiber was born Nov. 23, 1875, the son of Allen and Rebecca Reiber, at Pleasant Hill, Ohio. He spent his boyhood in Pleasant Hill and in 1893 was united in marriage to Grace Alma Falknor of Covington, Ohio. To this union three children were born all of whom survive. Mr. Reiber moved to Groton in 1907 and operated a barber shop until his retirement in 1938. He was in partnership with John Spicer for some time, later becoming sole proprietor. His barber shop is listed in the memories of many of the older people as Mr. Reiber was considered a master in the tonsorial art. He gained the friendship of all who knew him through his humor, and genial personality, and his philosophy of life was to never let trouble and obstacles in life interfere with his daily routine. Harry Reiber was a very devoted husband and father, and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife and three children: Mrs. John Schornack of Groton; Mrs. W. D. Olson of Sioux Falls and David Allen of Morris, Minn.; twelve grand children and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at the Paetznick Funeral Home, at 2:00 o'clock p. m., with the Rev. H. W. Atkinson officiating. Pall bearers were: Paul E. Krueger, C. A. Deitz, Harry Samuel, William Klaus, G. Stroh and George E. Schornack. Interment was in the Groton Union cemetery. Friends in Groton and vicinity extend sympathy to the bereaved family in their great loss. Thus ends the career of another of Groton's fast thinning pioneers.
