The Courier Waterloo, Iowa Wednesday, September 4, 1940 Page 5, Column 2 Harry Irvin Brant, son of William and Mary Ann Brant, was born at Castle Rock, Minn., Nov, 11, 1884, and passed away at his home in Iowa Falls Tuesday, Sept. 3, 1940, after a lingering illness, at the age of 55 years, 9 months and 23 days. Harry had been a long and patient sufferer, and until last Tuesday the hand of God quieted all pain. In his early boyhood he moved with his parents to Renville, Minn., where he grew to manhood, attending the Renville public school, where he went through the grades and high school. After he finished school, he began his career as a printer with W. A. Reid at Renville, which profession he has followed for more than thirty years. In 1909 he went to California where he continued in the same profession for nearly 18 years. He returned from California in 1926 and started work with J. L. Lee at Dows, where he worked nine years. He came to Iowa Falls five years ago where he has been in the employ of R. G. Elliott until the time of his illness which prevented his carrying on longer. Harry had many friends. He was a highly respected citizen, one of his fine qualities being his kindness to children and elderly people. On Dec. I7, 1927, he was united in marriage to Hazel Iehl of Dows. Five years ago, they moved to Iowa Falls where they have resided since. Mr. Brant was affiliated in the K. P. lodge, being a member since 1932. He leaves to mourn his death, his widow, his aged parents who were unable to attend his funeral on account of their very poor health, one sister, Mrs. Fred Streiff, and two brothers, Warren of Renville, Minn., and Charles of Chicago, and a host of friends. A short service was held at the home at Iowa Falls and at the Dows Methodist church at 2:30 Friday in charge of the Rev. L. A. Dale with burial in Fairview cemetery. Friends from Iowa Falls who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Jess Fitz, Mrs. Lyle Mann, Mr. and Mrs. George Elliott, Mrs. Floyd Kingdon and Miss Beverly Tomhave. Contributed.
