Description	:	Bio written by great niece Kathy Schulz Sept 2016 Lawrence Brown really does deserve to considered a “Columbiana jock.” He was my great uncle. He went on to star in football at Mt. Union (running back?), then fought in WWI and earned a graduate degree at Columbia. He eventually became superintendent of schools at Ravenna and was involved in the administration of Ohio high school athletics. He was a very nice man and remained handsome later in life. His younger brother Henry became a physician but sadly died of typhoid fever just as he started to practice. Columbiana should be proud of... They had moved to “the country” from Pittsburgh where the industrial air made Selma, one of the daughters, chronically ill—probably asthma. She later married a Detwiler. Another daughter Bella was my grandmother. Their father Henry ran a butcher shop in Columbiana but I never knew exactly where it was. They lived in the house next to Lutheran church. In those days you could get on a trolley right there and go to Salem/Alliance.
