Description	:	Cpl., USMC, WWII Harry Macon Lumsden, 80, of Mineral, died Thursday, December 15, 2005 at his residence. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, December 17 at Louisa Christian Church. Interment, with full military honors, was at Hillcrest Cemetery, Louisa. He is survived by his wife, Margaret C. Lumsden; a son, Gerald Macon Lumsden and his wife, Cheryl; two daughters, Rita Lumsden McDonald and her husband, Dennie, and Sheri Lumsden Southall and her husband, Frank; and three granddaughters, Joanna McDonald and Whitney and Spencer Southall. Lumsden; a son, Gerald Macon Lumsden and his wife, Cheryl; two daughters, Rita Lumsden McDonald and her husband, Dennie, and Sheri Lumsden Southall and her husband, Frank; and three granddaughters, Joanna McDonald and Whitney and Spencer Southall. Mr. Lumsden was the son of the late Roy Cole Lumsden and Louise Estes Lumsden. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Hale; and a brother, Ray F. Lumsden. He was retired from Louisa County where he served as the county treasurer for many years. An elder emeritus at Louisa Christian Church, he was recognized in 2004 for 40 years of music ministry service at Louisa Christian Church. He was a member of the Mineral Volunteer Fire Department, Day Lodge 58 A.F. & A.M., VFW Post 8947, American Legion Post 116, Virginia Treasurers Association, Louisa Lions Club, Mineral Historic Foundation and Sons of the Confederate Veterns. Mr. Lumsden served in the United States Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Memorial contributions may be made to Louisa Christian Church, 104 Elm Street, Louisa, VA 23093 or Hospice of the Piedmont, 1490 Pantops Mountain Place, Suite 200, Charlottesville, VA 22911. Woodward Funeral Home, Louisa, handled the arrangements.
