Visitation with the family present will be after 3:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. There will be a Parish Rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a Scriptural Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Friday at the church. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Harry Nicholas McKown was born February 27, 1946 in Le Mars, Iowa, the son of George and Elaine (Arens) McKown. At a early age, he moved with his family to Colorado where he attended school. He enlisted in the United States Army and served his country during the Vietnam Conflict. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Colorado. He married Norma Moore. To this union, two sons were born: Jason (Jake) and Shawn. They later divorced. While living in Colorado, Harry worked in construction. In 1995, he moved back to Le Mars. He went to work for Gleason Construction in Sioux City until his retirement. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Parish in Le Mars. Through the years, he enjoyed fishing and playing cards. He was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos. Survivors include his two sons: Jason (Jake) McKown of Sargent, Nebraska, and Shawn McKown of South Carolina; two sisters: Barbara Macomber of Colorado and Donna McKown of Le Mars, Iowa; his uncle and aunts: Tom and Marlene Arens of Le Mars and Marietta Alesch of Remsen, Iowa; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews; and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Elaine McKown; his brother: George McKown; and his sister: Ardith McKown Dunnam. 12/26/2018 Many thanks to FAG member (46963162) for providing the obituary.
