Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 5, 2004, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ida Grove, Iowa, under the direction of Christensen-Huffman Funeral Homes. Friends may call at Christensen-Huffman Funeral Home in Ida Grove on Sunday from 2-8 p.m., with the family present from 6-8 p.m. Born June 17, 1932, in Lincoln, Missouri, Harry Paul Kreisler was the son of Walter and Augusta (Fisher) Kreisler. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Missouri. He received his education in Warsaw, Missouri, and later moved to Iowa where he worked as a farmhand. Harry joined the United States Navy in 1952, serving four years during the Korean Conflict. Following his military service, he returned to Iowa and resumed work as a farmhand. He began farming on his own in 1957. Harry also painted, shingled, and repaired buildings and homes for many years. On December 31, 1953, he was united in marriage to Janis Cameron in Omaha, Nebraska. Harry enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his greatest love, his family. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ida Grove. Survivors include his wife, Janis; a son and his wife, Jerry and Janet Kreisler of Dawson; two daughters and their husbands, Joy and Kelby Wulf of Holstein, and Gail and Roger Kenkel of Manilla; 15 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a brother, Carl Kreisler and his partner Oleta Wilson of Red Bluff, CA; two sisters-in-law, Irene Kreisler of Sioux City, and Jeana Hansen and husband Vern of Des Moines; a brother-in-law and his wife, Tom and Judy Cameron of Alta; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Marvin Kreisler; and a son-in-law, Dennis Sharkey.
