Description	:	Harry Preheim, 92, son of Andrew Preheim and Pauline Waltner Preheim, was born May 28, 1909. He died Aug. 26, 2001, at Houston House. He attended a rural school near their home and Freeman Academy. He was baptized at Salem Mennonite Church, where he attended all his life. He married Lena Ada Kaufman June 24, 1937. They made their home on a farm near Freeman, S.D., and spent 58 years together. They had two sons. He attended a rural school near their home and Freeman Academy. He was baptized at Salem Mennonite Church, where he attended all his life. He married Lena Ada Kaufman June 24, 1937. They made their home on a farm near Freeman, S.D., and spent 58 years together. They had two sons. Mr. Preheim worked on the farm for many years, raising shorthorn cattle until the Preheims moved to town. He was honored in 1996 at the South Dakota State Fair for a life-long contribution to the shorthorn breed. He helped his wife clean the Freeman Clinic from 1970-'87 and the All-American Trucking. He had a great love for Buicks, fishing, flowers, antique collectibles and organ music. The last two and a half years, he spent with his youngest son, Garris, at Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son, Arden; his brothers, Richard O. and Melvin; and two sisters, Tillie Graber and Ella Preheim. Surviving are his son, Garris of Houston; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Services were Aug. 31 at the Salem Mennonite Church with burial in the Salem Mennonite Church Cemetery in South Dakota.
