Read More	Lowell Sun, 11 March 1940 Veteran Lowell Architect Dies in 70th Year LOWELL -- Harry Prescott Graves, for more than 50 years an architect here, during which time he planned and designed many of the city's most imposing structures, died Saturday in his 70th year at the Harvard Hospital following a short illness. Mr. Graves was the consulting architect in the erection of the Lowell Memorial Auditorium, the city's beautiful tribute to the soldiers of the World war. He drew plans for many other impressive structures here including the recently completed trade school on French street; the Strand and Merrimack Square theatres; the Race and West Sixth street engine houses; the Hugh J. Malloy School; the City Institution for Savings bank building at Hurd and Central streets and the buildings at the Middlesex County Training school in North Chelmsford. He was born in this city, son of the late Orville D., and Annie (Clark) Graves, and he was educated in the local schools. In 1898, he married Helen Osgood, who died several years ago. He was a member of the First Congregational Church. He is survived by one daughter, Miss Frances Graves, a teacher at the Oakland School, and a brother, Arthur H.
