Mr. Trafford was born March 13th, 1863, at Lincolnshire, England. He came to the United States as a boy of 7; settled in Wisconsin; was there for several years and then moved to this community; farmed west of Le Mars for a few years. Most of his life, he worked as a nurseryman and gardener in LeMars. On Aug. 29th, 1898 Otellia Szitnick and Harry Trafford were married in Le Mars. Five children were born to this union. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 8th, at the Wiltgen-Luedtke Funeral home. Burial will be in the Le Mars Cemetery. Survivors included his wife, Otellia; three children: Mrs. Lawrence, (Edith) Masuen of Le Mars, Mrs. Louise Haack of Remsen, and Miss Emma Trafford, of Le Mars; 3 brothers: Will of Fairmont, N.D., Charles and Ernest Trafford, both of Le Mars; 2 sisters, Mrs. Warren Lilly of Le Mars, and Mrs. Trewhela of Bozeman, Montana; also surviving are 5 grandchildren. 3 brothers and 1 sister preceded him in death.
