Burial was in the Ulysses Township Cemetery. Harry Warren McPherson, the son of James and Martha McPherson, was born on Dec. 13, 1880, at Safe Harbor, Pa. In 1887 he moved with his parents to Surprise, Nebr., where he grew to manhood. On April 9, 1920, he was married to Hattie Dunker of Surprise. They had only a brief married life because of her death on March 29, 1922. Following the death of his wife, Mr. McPherson moved to David City where he and his sister, Queenie, made their home together until his death. As a young man, he was a carpenter in Surprise. When he moved to David City, he began work as a mechanic at Walling Buick, a job which he held for over 20 years until his retirement in the late 1940's. After his retirement, he took up his interest in carpentering again on a part time basis. He also worked as a service station attendant at the South End Station. He is survived by one sister, Queenie McPherson of David City. His wife, his parents, two brothers and five sisters preceded him in death.
