During his residence in Creighton he was associated with banking, real estate, farm operations and purebred livestock development. Harry Wilson Woodworth was born Nov. 27, 1886 on a farm in Antelope County, a son of William H. and Emily A. Woodworth. He lived in Neligh a few years and moved with the family to Norfolk in 1890. There he attended grade school and later Drake Business College. In 1904, at the age of 17, Mr. Woodworth came to Creighton and entered the employment of the Security Bank, of which his cousin, Harry A. Cheney, was president. He was associated with the bank for many years and later became an officer. He married Laura Mildred Kruse of Creighton on July 12, 1910. In 1917 Mr. Woodworth went to Washington, D.C. where he was manager of the bookkeeping section of the Ordinance Dept. Later he received an appointment as auditor for the Treasury Dept. and served in France, returning to Creighton in 1918 to enter the real estate business. In 1931 he was employed by the New York Life Insurance Co. as an appraiser and land servicing agent with his office in Topeka, Kas. He lived there until 1938 when he moved his family back to Creighton and again entered the real estate business. Later he associated himself with his son-in-law, Edward B. Smith in farm operation and livestock development. Mr. Woodworth was active in community and county affairs. He was prominent in influencing the planning and building of the Creighton Municipal Hall and was one of the leaders in securing the establishment of the Soil Conservation District Office here. He was most active in raising and development of purebred livestock. Mr. Woodworth was a long time member of the Congregational-Baptist Church of Creighton. He served on various boards and committees and at the time of his death was a member of the board of trustees and the building committee. He was also active in the Masonic Lodge, having been a Master Mason since 1908. He was presented his 50 year Masonic pin in 1958 and received the Bronze Jordan Medal the same year, in honor of his being the oldest living member of Creighton Lodge #100, A.F. & A.M. He was also a 50 year member of the Eastern Star Chapter. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Edward B. (Marian) Smith of Creighton and Mrs. Ralph (Corene) McCollum of Chicago, ILL. and five grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at Hengstler's Chapel with the Rev. Richard T. Hartshorn, minister of the Congregational-Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Merritt C.
