The Gazette and Daily, February 19, 1970 Harry Zech Of Near Jefferson Succumbs Jefferson – Harry Zech, Spring Grove RD 2, near here, former hatchery owner and poultry farmer, died yesterday at 7:30 a.m. at York Hospital where he was a patient 12 days. He was 84. Until his retirement in 1961, he had served as a partner for 52 years in Zech Brothers Hatchery, Spring Grove RD 2, and 15 years in Harry Zech and Sons Poultry Farm, Seven Valleys RD 2. Husband of the late Mrs. Katie Bollinger Zech, who died in 1960, he was a son of the late Jeremiah and Catharine Ehrhart Zech of North Codorus Township. Mr. Zech was a member of the Hanover branch of the Christian Businessmen’s Committee and the Jefferson Fire Company and a former member of the Jefferson Cemetery Association. Surviving are three sons, John D. Zech, Wilmington, Del.; Edward J. Zech, at home, and Glenn P. Zech, Seven Valleys RD 2; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Rev. Chester V. Joines, pastor of Calvary Bible Church, Hanover, will officiate at funeral services Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Sauter Funeral Home, Spring Grove. Interment will be in Jefferson Cemetery.
