Read More	Havre Daily News Promoter, Havre, Montana, 23 Apr 1929 Former Rudyard Man Passes Away News of the death of Hartford Henry Mills earlier this month at Seattle after a long illness has been received here. He was born in Nova Scotia in 1865. He wsthe son of Henry and Margaret Mills. When a very young man he started west, living in different parts of Western Canada and Dakota finally settling in Saskatchewan. In 1889 he married Jesse Boss. Ten children were born to this union, the four who survive are Charles of Rudyard; William of Cecil, Sask.; and Jean and Leslie of Seattle, Wash. Mr. Mills came to Montana with his family in 1911. In 1918 his wife was taken by death and about two weeks later his oldest daughter died. Some years later he married Mrs. Marie Jacobson who survives him. In April a year ago, because of failing health, he moved to Seattle, Wash., where he died this month. He was 63 years old at the time of his death. Mr. Mills was a pioneer by nature as well as by circumstance. He erected for himself an enduring monument in the memories of those who shared with him the various experiences of the homestead days in this part of Montana. Mr. Mills was converted when a young man uniting with the Methodist church in Canada. After coming to Montana he was a pioneer in the religious life of his neighborhood and was largely instrumental in building the Grace Evangelical Church, of which he became a member. Following the funeral services, conducted by Rev. H.L. Calvert, the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery adjoining the church he helped to build.
