Read More	A Good Man Gone to His Home Above - Died: At his home in this city on Wednesday evening, Dec. 30, 1891, at 7:30 o'clock, Hartsey A. Ellis, aged 68 years, 4 months and 28 days, of pneumonia after an illness of only four days. Mr. Ellis was born on August 2, 1823 in Cayuga county, New York, where he resided until reaching manhood when he removed to Michigan, in which state he was married to Miss Jane E. Brigs, who has been his constant companion ever since. After a residence of 15 years in Michigan they removed to Rising Sun, Iowa, where they resided until 1887, when they removed to this city where they have since resided. Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Ellis - two boys and two girls - two of whom survive him and were constantly at his beside during his last sickness. They are Mrs. Z. T. Leftwich of this city and Mrs. A. J. Young of Fullerton. Mr. Ellis was a member of the Christian church and lived an honorable, upright and exemplary Christian life and was esteemed and respected by all who knew him. Always of a kind and sociable disposition he was a devoted and loving husband, and a kind and indulgent father. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and kind words to those who were needing assistance, his whole life being devoted to kind deeds, which will be a comforting thought to those who are left to mourn his loss. Mrs. Ellis, being also sick at the time of his death, was completely prostrated by her great affliction, which can only be understood by those who have been similarly situated, but in her great sorrow she does not forget the kindness of her friends and neighbors who did all in their power to alleviate her suffering and help her bear her burden of sorrow. The funeral services were held at the family residence in this city last Friday morning, Jan. 1, 1892 at 10 o'clock, conducted by Rev. W. H. Miller, after which the remains were interred in the Warsaw cemetery by the side of his son who had preceded him to that better world. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community in the loss of husband and father who has gone to his reward above and where no sorrow is known.
