Dunmire, son of Samuel and Ruth Dunmire, was born in Kearney County, May 5, 1878 at the Dunmire homestead just across the road from their present home where he passed away, February 22, at the age of 68 years, nine months and 17 days. Dunmire, son of Samuel and Ruth Dunmire, was born in Kearney County, May 5, 1878 at the Dunmire homestead just across the road from their present home where he passed away, February 22, at the age of 68 years, nine months and 17 days. He had been a patient sufferer for several years. He was married to Miss Helga J. Olsen, January 31, 1912, in Salida, Colorado. To this union was born one son, Donald. Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Helga, his son Donald, four brothers, Charles of Lowell; William, Hastings; Emery, Kearney and Silas of Alexandria, South Dakota, besides many relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 25 at the Layton Funeral Home, the Reverend W.H. Hendrickson, pastor of the Newark Methodist church officiating. Burial was made in the Minden cemetery: "Green be the turf above thee, Friend of my better days: None knew thee but to love thee, None named thee but to praise." Those from out-of-town who were here to attend the services were Mr. and Mrs. A.D. Olsen and Tommy, Mr. and Mrs. Billie Olsen, Kearney; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Dunmire and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rutt and family of Hastings; Mr. and Mrs. D.W. Olsen of Ravenna and A.V. Olsen, Rhea and La Grant Moore of Holdrege.
