He was born May 8, 1923 in Fremont to Viggo and Elsie (Johnson) Jensen and was a 1941 graduate of Fremont High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from Feb. 6, 1943 to Feb. 23, 1946 and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He was a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a Bachelors degree in business. Harvey married Marcella Ball June 11, 1948. He was vice president at the former Stephens National Bank which then became First National Bank in Fremont. As a member of the First Congregational Church, U.C.C. in Fremont he served as treasurer for 36 years. He was also a member of the Fremont Golf Club. Harvey is survived by daughters, Cathy (Ron) Bachmann of Fremont, Laurie Hansen of Lincoln and Hari Kirn (Waheguru S.)Khalsa, D.C. of Los Angeles, CA. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Jacob Bachmann, Becca Bachmann, Brian Hansen and Cassie Krueger. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Marcella; sister, Marian Neufind; and brothers, Robert Jensen and H. Kenneth Jensen; sister-in-law, Marjorie Jensen and brother-in-law, Don Neufind. Memorial Services for Harvey A. Jensen will be at the First Congregational Church, U.C.C. of Fremont. Pastor Larry Jirsak will officiate. There is no visitation. A military graveside service will be conducted by the Fremont Honor Guard of V.F.W. Post #854 and American Legion Post #20 at Ridge Cemetery in Fremont. Moser Memorial Chapel,Fremont, NE in charge of arrangements.
