Description	:	OBITUARY : HARVEY C. SMITH, 75, of 16526 Raven Rock Road, died Monday, Sept. 26, at his home. Born Oct. 16, 1929, in Lantz, Md., he was the son of the late Harry R. and Janetta M. Kendall Smith. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church, Sabillasville. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen D. Mowdy Smith, whom he married June 18, 1949; daughter, Debra K. Ayers of Sabillasville; two sons, Michael W. Smith of Waynesboro, Pa., and Ron R. Smith of Cascade, Md.; four sisters, Goldie (Sis) Baker, Martha Willard and Mildred Eyler, all of Sabillasville, and Josephine Eyler of Thurmont; two brothers, Charles Smith and Benny Smith, both of Sabillasville; four granddaughters, Karen Smith, Sara Smith, Anna Smith and Brandy Thompson; nieces; and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sally Mayhue, and four brothers, Harry Smith, William Smith, Clyde Smith and Henry Smith. Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, with Pastor Janet I. Comings officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Cascade. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 1037 Haven Road, Hagerstown, MD 21742; or VA Medical Center, 510 Butler Ave., Martinsburg, WV 25401.
