Heath, 54, resident of Edna township, southeast of Cumberland, died unexpectedly Monday afternoon at 3:30 in the Jones hospital where he had been a patient about a week. A heart attack caused his death. He had entered the hospital a week ago for a minor operation. Mr. Heath was born on January 11, 1885, southeast of Massena, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Heath. He lived at Massena until he was 11 years of age when the family moved southeast of Cumberland. He was married to Miss Mayme Meyer on September 2, 1908, and with the exception of six years when they lived south of Massena, they had resided on the present farm all their married life. Mr. Heath attended the services at the Gospel Hall at Lyman. Surviving are the widow, three daughters, and one son. The children are Maurice Heath of Knoxville; Mrs. Isabell Eshelman of Griswold; Mrs. Eleanor Saemisch of Stanton; and Miss Helen Heath at home. There is one grandchild; also one brother, Floyd Heath of Minot, North Dakota and three sisters, Mrs. Edith Wheeler of Bevadere, Illinois; Mrs. Haze Collins of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mrs. Geneva Patterson of Bloomfied, Iowa. The body will lie in state at the Roland, Peacock & Baxter funeral home here until noon Wednesday when it will be taken to the home southeast of Cumberland. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Baptist church in Cumberland. Burial will be in Victoria cemetery, south of Massena. Cumberland, Ia., January 27 - (Special) - Funeral services for Harvey Heath, well known farmer, were held here Thursday afternoon at the Baptist church with Brother Oliver Smith of Waterloo in charge. Burial was in the Victoria cemetery. O. G. Whitney, Frank Gordinier, F. H. Meyer, and Cal Lindeman accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Gordinier, sang, "Somtime We'll Understand," "The Riches of Love," Have Thine Own Way, Lord," "Wonderful Peace," and "Christians Goodnight." Pallbearers were Ralph Querry, Lloyd Curry, Lloyd Erickson, Ellis Wohlenhaus, Frank Boos, and Herman Martens.
