Read More	Harvey Borchers Dies After Corn Picker Accident Power-Takeoff Caught His Clothing as He Mounted Tractor Plymouth county's 1951 record of corn picking accidents received its blackest mark thus far when Harvey Borchers, 35, who farmed two miles west of Le Mars, died Monday at the sAcred Heart hospital. Mr. Borchers had been severly injured about 4 p. m. Thursday when his clothers caught in the power take-off as he was mounting his tractor. He had stopped to change wagons. John Ommen who works at the farm, had helped change the wagons, and he stopped the tractor, cut Mr. Borchers free and then went to get help. The injured man was brought to the hospital by car, where he was found to have suffered a broken neck and internal injuries. Born in Preston township June 18, 1916, Harvey Lewis Borchers was the son of Lewis and Emma Collman Borchers. He lived in this county all his life. His marriage to Lorraine Marcella Myers took place at St. John's Lutheran church in Le Mars Jan. 7, 1937. She survives him, as do his three sons, Clayton, 12; Douglas, 7; and Gregory, 6. A fourth son and his father preceded him in death. Other survivors are his mother, three brothers, William, and Bernard Borchers of Le Mars and Henry of Akron, and a sister, Mrs. Cliff (Helen) Noble of Craig. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 21 at 2 p. m. at Grace Lutheran church in Le Mars, with the pastor, the Rev. Harry H. Meyer, conducting the rites.
