Description	:	Daughter of William Tillman & Mary Jane Davis Skelton. Her first husband was William Henry "Bud" Hendrix. He passed away on September 15, 1921 in Greenville, SC, where they lived in the American Spinning mill community. Her second husband was George Carpenter, married sometime after the 1930 Census. He passed away unexpectedly on April 17, 1932 in Macon County, NC. Her obituary stated she passed away at the home of her son, M.O. Hendricks, after an illness of several weeks. Survived by her son; a daughter, Mrs. Doyle Redford of Greenville; two grandchildren; and three brothers, Minty Skelton and Lloyd Skelton, both of Pickens, and S.O. Skelton of Orlando, FL. Funeral services: Tuesday, March 25, 1947, Calumet Baptist Church, Liberty, conducted by Rev. H.W. Ayers and Rev. Earl Roach. Burial: West View Cemetery, Liberty. Pallbearers: Lake Dodson, John Crow, E.O. Mauldin, T.L. Roper, William Owen, and Horace Merck. As was still the custom of the day, her remains were returned to the family home for visitation until the time of the funeral. This was to the home of her son, M.O. Hendrix.
