He was the son of the late Herbert and Eva Daisey. He was a former police officer with the merchant marines and was a local barber, chicken grower, and past owner of Shore Boarding Kennels. Daisey Age 72 of Ocean View, DE went home to the Lord on Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at his home, with his beloved family and friends at his side. He was the son of the late Herbert and Eva Daisey. He was a former police officer with the merchant marines and was a local barber, chicken grower, and past owner of Shore Boarding Kennels. Hayward was a member of Ham Radio Operators and the Ocean View Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Hayward Ralph Daisey, July 2, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Smith Daisey; 2 sons, Kim Daisey and his wife, Patti Joe, of Lancaster, PA, Michael Adkins and his wife, Dawn, of Bethany Beach; and 2 daughters, Arline Simmons and her husband, John, of Dagsboro and Terri Snowden and her husband, Wayne, of Fenwick Island. Other survivors include 2 brothers, Lloyd Daisey and his wife, Phyllis, of Millsboro, Ray Daisey and Lois White of Ocean View; his sister, Betty Murray and her husband, Elbridge, of Ocean View; 8 grandchildren, Kristin Simmons, J.T. Simmons, Jenna Simmons, Andrea Meyer and her husband, Rob, Phillip Tyre, Karen Adkins, Jessica Adkins and Taylor Adkins; and 1 great grandchild, Blake Meyer. A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, April 2, at the Bethany Chapel of MELSON FUNERAL SERVICES, West Ave., Ocean View, where family and friends may call after 12 noon. Interment will be in Mariner's Bethel Cemetery in Ocean View. Flowers are acceptable or the memorial contributions may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 5610 Kirkwood Hwy., Suites 5610-5612, Wilmington, DE 19808; or to the Ocean View Church of Christ, PO Box 1247, Ocean View, DE 19970.
