Description	:	Hazel Adeline Krell-Hale Teddy Roosevelt was the U.S. president over a century ago, when Fredrick and Minnie Krell gave birth to their daughter, Hazel Adeline in 1904. They were living in Altavista, Iowa at the time and would come to homestead in Odessa where Hazel would grow up in the farming community. She was 16 years old when women received the right to vote and she voted in every presidential election through President Bush. They were living in Altavista, Iowa at the time and would come to homestead in Odessa where Hazel would grow up in the farming community. She would meet and marry Luke Hale in 1922 and eventually give birth to Robert Fredrick (Pepsi) and Betty Jean Hale and raised her children traveling with her husband throughout California and Washington finally making a stable home in Creston, in the late 1930s Betty married Raymond Halsey and Hazel moved and resided with them where the family eventually settled on the edge of Electric City. Hazel became the matriarch of the family caring for house and home, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sharing her love and homemade goodies well into her 90s. When she needed medical care she was kept close to home and was given care in the Coulee Community Nursing Home. She was attended by her daughter, Betty and was visited often by family and friends. Hazel passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 8, 2007, in the company of her daughter and granddaughter, Diana Miller-Mann. Hazel would have been 103 years old on July 15. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, husband, sister Luella, brother Clarence and son. She is survived by her daughter Betty and husband Raymond Halsey; grandchildren Timothy Halsey, Fredrick Hale, Diana Hale Miller-Mann and Stanley Cass; great-grandchildren Andre Hale-Rettkowski, Wade Hale, Jason Miller and Justin Miller; great-great-grandchildren Dustyn Rettkowski and Taylor Rettkowski. Arrangements were entrusted to Strate Funeral Home. Burial was in the Wilbur Cemetery July 2
