Hazel was born on November 18, 1939, in Huntington, West Virginia, to her parents Clarence Jr. & Nota (Hensley) Williams and raised by her father and step-mother Violet “Vicky” Keiser. She grew up in West Virginia and later moved to Eldora. She met her first husband Ronald Blandau and the couple were married in San Diego, CA. They were the parents of four children. The couple were later divorced. She later married Leonard “Duke” Nordyke at the Little Brown Church in Nashua and shared his daughter Beverly to become a part of their family. He passed away in 2005. For many years, Hazel worked as a stay at home mom, raising her family but she also worked various jobs throughout the Eldora area. For many years, she sorted corn with her best friends in the world, making a little extra money to make her family's Christmas even more special. Hazel was a member of the Red Hats Society. She enjoyed traveling, wintering in Texas with her husband Duke, dancing, and most importantly, spending time with her family and friends. If you were friends with Hazel, she was yours for life. She was a loyal and generous soul and will be missed deeply by all those she leaves behind. She is survived by her children Beverly Nordyke of Boone, IA, Regina Blandau of Iowa Falls, IA, Michael Blandau of Eldora, Vickie Paul of Eldora, and Jill (Ray) Johnson of Iowa Falls, IA; 10 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Pat Hansen, Zola Borchardt and Darla Barrett. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Duke Nordyke; brother Paul Williams; grandchildren Tanner Ackerson, Mackenzie Blandau, and Derek Sanders.
