Davis was born Feb. 24, 1894, to Franklin and Cora Colista Davis at Spencer, S.D. As a young girl she came with her parents to Hand County where she lived until she married Elmer August Krauter July 31, 915. Read More	Mrs. Elmer Krauter WESSINGTON - Mrs. Elmer A (Hazel) Krauter died Saturday afternoon at the Hand County Memorial Hospital in Miller at the age of 83. Hazel B. Davis was born Feb. 24, 1894, to Franklin and Cora Colista Davis at Spencer, S.D. As a young girl she came with her parents to Hand County where she lived until she married Elmer August Krauter July 31, 915. The couple farmed south of Wessington until 1930 when they moved into Wessington where they later lived. Her husband died in 1971. For the past few years she had lived with her children. She was also a Gold Star Mother. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Virgil (Mildred) LaBau, Miller; Mrs. Kenneth (Arlene) Matthews, Wessington; Mrs. Jean (Norma) DeHaven, Wessington; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one brother Clinton Davis, De Smet. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two sons, Clifford and Maynard; one daughter, Thelma Krauter; four sisters, Edna Davis, Lily Burk, Nettie Bennet, and Anna Dobson; and three brothers, Marshall, Harley and Archie Davis. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church in Wessington, with the Rev. Perkins Patton officiating. Burial will be in the Wessington cemetery. The pallbearers will be six grandsons, Doyle LaBau, Lyle LaBau, Val LaBau, Vernon LaBau, Forrest DeHaven and Dennis Matthews.
