Interment was made in the Canova Cemetery with Willoughby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Honorary casketbearers were Brittany Sattler, Megan Sattler, Kelli Steffen, Shelby Hohn, Sutton Hohn and Kaytlin Adams. Hazel Lois Zulk was born August 14, 1928, to William and Amalia (Graese) Zulk at Canova. She was united in marriage to Virgil Gosmire on January 18, 1950. The couple farmed and lived their married life near Canova. She worked at the Canova Retirement Home for over 20 years. During World War II, she worked at John Morrels. She met Virgil while waitressing in the Cafe. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Jolly Dozen Extension Club, and Canova Legion Auxiliary. She died Thursday, Jan. 17, at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital, Mitchell. She attained the age of 79 years. She is survived by her husband, Virgil, Mitchell; daughters, Barbara Adams, Mitchell, Dona (Ron) Steffen, White Lake, Sue (Duane) Sattler, Lincoln, Neb., Diane Gilbertz (Mike), White Lake, and Bonnie (Mark) Hohn, Dimock; one son, Ray (Doreen), Mitchell; sister, Lois Lundberg, Sioux Falls; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Alice Jacobsen, Delma Anderson, Lorna Martin; an infant sister, Arlene; and three brothers, Adolph, Willmar and Robert. Parkston Advance
