Her family includes two daughters: Johneta Horner and Margaret Cooper (and her husband, James Covington) all of Des Moines; a stepson: Michael Courtney of Pella; 4 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 22 great great grandchildren; a great great great granddaughter; and two sisters: Mabel Clucas of Des Moines and Mildred Irving of Chariton. . Besides both of her husbands, Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; a great grandchild; a great great grandchild; a brother in infancy; and 2 sisters: Blanche Telin and Cora Blaylock. . Funeral services for Hazel Courtney will be held Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at 11 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with the Reverend Michael Crouch officiating. Burial will be in the Hamilton Cemetery at Hamilton, Iowa. Visitation will begin on Monday after 9 a.m., and the family will be at the funeral chapel on Monday from 6 – 8 p.m. to greet friends and relatives.
