Description	:	Hazel Maxine Harris, 91, of Ottumwa, died at 9:05 p.m. February 4, 2015, at the Bloomfield Care Center in Bloomfield. She was born September 2, 1923, in Blakesburg to Raymond Willis and Mary Elizabeth Winkleman Wiand. She married Donald L. Harris on April 24, 1948. He preceded her in death on February 20, 2006. A 1942 graduate of Moulton High School, Maxine had worked for 14 years at John Morrell & Co. She was a homemaker, enjoyed sewing crafts and loved her cat, Fluffy. Maxine and her husband loved to travel, and she was able to realize her lifelong dream of traveling abroad. She was a member of Davis St. Christian Church, Christian Women’s Fellowship and National Council of Senior Citizens. Surviving are a daughter, Jean Ann (Daniel) Hastings of Bloomfield; six grandchildren, Michelle (Edward) Smith, Melissa (Ryan) Brindle, Danelle (Ryan) Howard, Ginny (Tom) Irwin, Danny Hastings and Brant Doke; seven great-grandchildren, Blayton, Elsie, Allisyn, Brant, Kelsey, Weldon and Mackenzie; a sister, Sandra Sue (Milton) Chumbly of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jan Long; two brothers, Otis Orman Wiand and Lyle J. Wiand. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Friend officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
