Description	:	SOUTH BURLINGTON - Hazel May Sinclair, 96, of South Burlington, passed away peacefully on Oct. 5, 2012, in the St. Albans Healthcare and Rehab Center. She was born June 19, 1916, in Glover, the daughter of Georgiana and Wesley Drew. She graduated from Barton Academy in 1934. Read More	SOUTH BURLINGTON - Hazel May Sinclair, 96, of South Burlington, passed away peacefully on Oct. 5, 2012, in the St. Albans Healthcare and Rehab Center. She was born June 19, 1916, in Glover, the daughter of Georgiana and Wesley Drew. She graduated from Barton Academy in 1934. After a short experience in nurses training, she took a job as a waitress in Lyndonville where she met the love of her life and husband of 65 years, Richard Sinclair. The couple later moved to Johnson, where she lived much of her adult life, and raised her beloved daughter, Paula Cauchon. In later years, Hazel worked part time in her husband's Grand Union store, and then full time as a bookkeeper for Copley Hospital. Hazel and Dick later moved to South Burlington, where they could be closer to their daughter, Paula, son-inlaw, Doug Cauchon, and grandchildren, Douglas R. Cauchon and wife, Mary, of Colchester, and Robin Dion and husband, Chris, of Bristol. In addition to the above mentioned, Hazel is survived by three greatgrandsons, Robert Iandoli and wife, Tracy, Joshua Thomas, and Kris Cauchon; two great-granddaughters, Emily Dion and Kelsey Cauchon. Hazel has one living sibling, Harriet Grant, 93, of Lyndonville, with whom she spent many happy hours in recent years. She was also predeceased by another sister, Gertrude Stimpson; two brothers, Rolf and Plinney E Drew; and Elizabeth Quinn, who was like a second daughter to her. Other people who were special in her life were Bob and Dolly Sinclair, Doug and Rose Wheeler, Walter Cook, Linda Jones, Fred Sweeney, Ernestine Pratt, plus many loving nieces and nephews. Hazel, known as "Nanny" by all her loved ones, lived for her family. She was indeed the revered matriarch around which the holiday celebrations were centered. Her kindness, generosity and loving nature served as a model for all her loved ones. Her wit and sense of humor remained with her to the end. She remained famous for old fashioned sayings and one-liners from the past. Just when we thought we'd heard the last one, a newly remembered one would arise from the past, keeping everyone around her in stitches. She was looked up to with such adoring love and respect. To have known her as a mother, wife, grand- mother or friend, was a gift to be treasured. She will be long remembered and dearly missed. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Albans Healthcare and Rehab for the tender care and support they afforded Hazel and her family. Final arrangements are in the care of Holcomb-des Grosseillers Funeral Home in Johnson. There will be no calling hours.
