Description	:	Mrs. Hazel Blacketer, 76, died Wednesday night, February 19 in her home in What Cheer. She was a lifelong resident of the What Cheer community and had operated the Purity cafe there for 21 years. She had been in failing health for some time before her death. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Waterhouse, she was born June 20, 1887 and was married to Lester (sic) Blacketer January 13, 1907. She was a member of the What Cheer Christian church. Preceding her in death were her husband; a son, Gene and a sister, Mrs. Iola (sic) Dahlstrom of Thornburg. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, February 21 at the Whyle Funeral Home in What Cheer with the Rev. James P. Imlay officiating and burial in Springfield cemetery. From What Cheer Patriot-Chronicle February 26, 1964 issue Errata: She married Leslie Lee Blacketer 13 January 1907 in What Cheer, Keokuk County, Iowa. They later divorced and Leslie married Ida G. Cox. Hazel never remarred.
