Description	:	Hazle Irene (Foister) Maillard, was called home on April 4th 2009. Hazle was born in Salkum, Wa. Her grandma served as her "midwife." After high school, she moved to Alaska and worked a year at Elmendorf Air Force Base. She married an airman and moved to Dover, Delaware. Her grandma served as her "midwife." After high school, she moved to Alaska and worked a year at Elmendorf Air Force Base. She married an airman and moved to Dover, Delaware. Thirteen years and three sons later, she moved back to Tacoma. Hazle has one of those sons in Idaho and one in Gig Harbor. She lived a time in Arizona and worked in Arizona Dental Health System. In that time they still used reel to reel computer systems. After a short time moved back to Tacoma to hire on to "odd jobs" as she called them. She worked for sales at Sears in Dover and Tacoma, also Fred Meyer in Tacoma. Her last job was with Catholic Community Services as a care giver, a job she really loved. She also worked for many years at Realto and Paramont as an usher and worked on the election board. She had been a fixture at Mid-County Community Center for about 10 years. Anyone who has attended an Art League show or an art show at the Community Center would have noticed beautiful oil paintings of Tall Ships, which were one of her passions to paint. She would sit for hours and take pictures at the waterfront on Ruston way trying to find that, "just right" scene to paint. In February she was named artist of the month by and at the Midland Summit Senior Center. She has been painting for 30 years and was accomplished in both water colors and oils. She had taken oil lessons from Bess Scholtz and watercolor from Harmon Davenport. Her paintings have been shown in the Lakewood library as well as the Gibson Gardens. Also, she received first place in an Eatonville show. She was painting with teachers, Penny Hale and Howard Mitchels at Lakewood Senior Center and was still painting at Midland Summit Senior Center. Hazle was an artist that was never satisfied until realism was brought to life in both her water colors and oils. Her ability to see beauty in all she saw and painted is proof of God's wonderful gifts. The talents He gave her were enhanced and was evident in her work. God's loving touch and her brush gave enjoyment to many. She was a lady of grace and love, a mother, a grand and great grandmother. But most of all a "prayer warrior", who touched and was touched by many lives, all for the glory of God Almighty. She was finally edified, elected and delivered unto Christ's eternal arms after 75 years of life and loyal service. Hazle is survived by two brothers, Gene (Shirley) Foister and Lyle (Darlene) Foister, two sons, Michael (Annette) Maillard and Mark (Sherry) Maillard; six grandchildren, Melissa, Amy, Anna, Nathan, Leah and David; three great grandchildren, five nieces and six nephews. Welcome home Hazle, thy good and faithful servant, you will be lovinly missed. The family wishes to thank Tacoma General Hospital, CVICU and IICU and Manor Care Nursing Facility for their watchful and considerate care, they were greatly appreciated during Hazle's illness.
